I recently had the opportunity to design an open house invitation for Josh Barrett/CreateLegal. Josh is a Portland based lawyer who specializes in working with creative firms & small businesses. In fact, Josh is my lawyer which made this project even more special.
… and since I haven’t had a chance to send Josh a formal testimonial yet, I thought I’d share a bit about my experience right here! When we moved to Portland, we had so much business to sort out. Transferring two businesses seemed so overwhelming, and we were so happy when our friends connected us with Josh. After meeting with him, Josh had both of our businesses setup within 3 days, and we were official. He put everything into a digital document for us, which made setting up our business bank accounts a breeze. I cannot imagine an easier process, and since then, it’s been awesome calling Josh our friend! If you run a small business or an independent studio, it is essential that you be official & operate legally … Josh can help you do this!!
Now, onto the stationery:
Since Josh is in his new space, he wanted to host an open house for all of his clients & peers to meet each other and mingle a bit. The amazing team at KeeganMeegan did a wonderful job printing these postcards. They are beautiful letterpress on cotton paper. So perfect.
The starting point for everything was the amazing work that my friend, Rob, created for Josh. Rob was responsible for Josh’s original logo (you can see it over on Josh’s site), and branding materials. While some lawyers/firms take a fairly traditional route to branding, Josh & Rob worked together to create something really special. You see, Josh isn’t typical … he understands and respects the creative process, and he knows his clients do too. So, it was important to him that I took his favorite elements from his brand and created an invite that reflected that same style.
Along with the invitation, I created a little return address stamp. I love this thing.
I loved this project! Be sure to stop by Josh’s site to introduce yourself … Let him know I sent you & he’ll take great care of you!
